In Matawan, New Jersey, a pizzeria puts flyers of missing pets on pizza boxes to help reunite owners with their lost pets. John Sanfratello, the owner of Angelo’s Pizza, came up with the idea after a cat named Hazel ran away from her owner during a storm.
According to the pizzeria’s Facebook page, Hazel’s owner came into the store distributing photos and information about the beloved cat, asking if the pizzeria would place Hazel’s photo on the pizza boxes, since they are so popular in the area. Sanfratello’s son also put Hazel’s photo on Facebook, and so it began; photos went viral.
Just two days later, The Seeing Eye Of New Jersey brought over flyers for a missing Seeing Eye puppy in training.
“We will continue to distribute this flyer but please share this post far and wide and let’s reunite Ondrea with her proper caretakers! Thank you for your help!”
The good news – Hazel has been reunited with her family, but other missing pets still need everyone’s help finding their families.
Angelo’s Pizza has been around for nearly 45 years. It’s what neighbors and friends do to help. Many thanks to the Sanfratello family for helping those who cannot speak.
