When a neighbor in Detroit allegedly released his dog to purposely attack a stray mother dog and her tiny puppies on Sunday afternoon, volunteers with the Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue were able to step up to the tragic situation and rescue the lactating mom along with her puppies.
According to the organization’s Facebook page, officers from the Detroit Police Department were contacted by concerned residents who called 911.
“The owner of the attacking dog reportedly had purposely left their dog off a chain to attack the stray mom, and he proceeded to video tape the attack,” the organization posted on social media, accompanied by photos of the mother dog and her tiny puppies.
Officers from the police department were quick to respond; the mother dog and her six puppies survived the attack. The suspect is currently in custody.
All of the dogs are safe and have been transported to the Advanced Animal Emergency veterinarian hospital for care. At this time, the mother dog is nursing her puppies. She will be undergoing surgery to have her wounds cleaned up and sutured where needed including drainage tubes inserted to avoid infection. For now, she gets to rest and care for her family.

Poor Momma dog has enough problems without some POS unleashing his dog on her! I hope they throw the book at this moron, he should have his dog taken away, he is NO dog lover! The picture of the police officer petting the Momma dog tells me all I need to know about the gentle Momma. It’s good to see a positive story about law enforcement also.
Wondering how long this hateful man has to spend behind bars. He should be sued by the owner of the dog and the puppies. Can’t believe anyone can be that cruel. I would love to meet that man face to face. He is the scum of the earth.

Oh I bet he wasn’t charged, actually I would put money on that. Cops only care about dogs when they get to shoot them!!!! And also 95% of the time it’s a only misdemeanor…….. what does it take for them to be charged with a felony? So many dogs lose their life’s in terrible horrific ways, but it’s a misdemeanor.
