In a tragic family event in Lancashire, United Kingdom, a missing 12-week-old puppy stolen by burglars, was found hanged outside her owner’s home a few days. The heartbroken family discovered the puppy’s lifeless body hanging on the garden’s gate.

According to the Lancaster Telegraph, the British bulldog that the family purchased for nearly $5,000, just three weeks prior to the robbery, had been stolen during a break in. Heartless thieves took the puppy named Wilma, after breaking down the back door on Tuesday morning. Robbers also stole the family’s Mercedes Benz and approximately $50 in cash, belonging to one of the young children. The car has since been recovered.

Gemma Knowles and her partner Andrew Bolland, appealed for the return of Wilma through social media and were devastated after finding the puppy’s lifeless body tied to the family’s gate. Although they tried to revive the puppy with mouth to mouth resuscitation, Wilma was gone. The couple’s three children were so upset, they now want to move out of their home.

The owners think Wilma was stolen because of her monetary value. They think the robbers may have been scared by the attention garnered after posting the puppy’s photo on Facebook. The posts, with Wilma’s photos, were shared hundreds of times.

“We did not hear anything when we woke up or even at night.

“She must have been tied up there. We don’t know if she was too high off the ground and she had been hanging or the metal wire was too tight and she could not get free,” Andrew told the news media.

The Lancashire Constabulary is currently investigating the crime.

Rest in peace Wilma. You never had a chance to live a charmed life.

  1. Hope they find Wilma’s killers. I agree she was stolen because of her monetary value. That being said, do you know how many shelter dogs could be saved with $5,000???

  2. What kind of monster can do this to an innocent puppy! May they rot in Hell. My sincere condolences to the family of this little one, I can’t imagine the horror finding their precious Wilma like this.

  3. Wishing the family the deepest sympathy and many prayers. These SICK EVIL LUNATICS MUST BE FOUND! I cannot imagine the HORROR of this–our dog is ALWAYS within close range–especially at night.

Wilma is in heaven now, and HELL is anxiously waiting for the murderers!
