In June, a microchipped dog was taken in at a busy California animal control agency, but his family never showed up to take him home – now, weeks later, he is scheduled to die. The dog is Buddy, a two-year-old German shepherd who arrived at the Riverside County Animal Shelter on June 25 as a stray.

The Facebook page, Saving Riverside Shelter Dogs, wrote a plea on Buddy’s behalf – pointing out his dire situation:

LAST CALL! MUST EXIT TODAY 7/17/19 HE WILL BE EUTHANIZED‼️ BUDDY is scheduled for EUTHANASIA per Riverside Shelter’s Official Webpage. Please contact the rescue coordinators at the info below if you can save . We may be his last hope. Please share everywhere! 💔

Buddy is ready to go home:

Buddy was on a microchip hold, but his owners didn’t come for him. He’s a pretty calm guy and clearly handsome as can be. Buddy has been at the shelter two weeks but no one has expressed interest in him. He’s already neutered, so if you adopt him, he can leave the shelter immediately!

Please help save Buddy’s life by sharing this article with his adoption information – time is of the essence!

  1. WE DID SAY THIS WAS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA DIDN”T WE!!! WE ARE TREATING OUR COMPANION ANIMAL”S LIKE KOREA< CHINA<TURKEY!!!! WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH THIS NATION @ :YEARS OLD A PURE BRED < NEUTERED & IS GOING TO DIE TODAY WTF!!!! IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Somebody must have loved Buddy to get him micro chipped and then to just leave him there is unconscionable I hope and pray he gets out of there. I will NEVER understand this kind of betrayal!

    • There are some individuals who should NEVER have companion animals!!!!!!!!!
It’s absolutely disgusting that they clearly view them as disposable or easily replaced if “lost”……

A few years ago, I found a small dog wandering in a carpark. I took him to 2 different vet clinics to check for a microchip. He had a chip, had been neutered and was VERY sweet, playful and friendly. Clearly he had been loved at one time. Sadly the microchip was registered to a dead cell phone…… The local humane society was brutally honest with me and told me that they would keep him for 3 days then euthanize him…… I took him home (I was a foster fail)….. great little companion (I wish he was here now)…….

I feel so badly for Buddy…… similarly abandoned by his so-called family (who should burn in Hell forever for their cruelty)……

If I hadn’t been a “foster fail”, our precious little treasure would have been a euthanasia statistic……… I truly hope that Buddy is saved…… such a heartbreaking situation…….

  3. Thank goodness! Thank you to the good people who will rescue this dog. I live in Va., and I was so hoping someone could get to him in time.
