Meet Lucky: Found on the side of the road desperate for help

In Laurens, South Carolina,  on Tuesday, Good Samaritans found Lucky lying on the side of the road. Nothing more than a walking skeleton, animal advocate Samantha Pitts and her husband picked him up, gave him water and kept him comfortable and safe at their home until help arrived.

Rescue Dogs Rock NYC immediately volunteered and have been instrumental saving the dog’s life.

“He is now safe at our SC vet partner and has started receiving the urgent medical care he so desperately needs,” co-founder of the rescue organization, Stacey Silverstein posted on Facebook.

This poor baby is a walking skeleton with bowed legs and open pressure sores. His legs are bent and he has obviously suffered for a VERY long time and yet our vet staff say he is the sweetest thing.”

It was August 2018, that another severe case of animal cruelty caught headlines from the same area.  In Laurens, South Carolina, a 16-month-old Mastiff named Champ would be fighting for his life at an emergency veterinarian hospital also.

Many thanks to Samantha Pitts and her husband. If you see something, say something. Be the voice for those who cannot speak.

Many thanks to Rescue Dogs Rock NYC for helping the most serious cases of animal neglect and abuse.
