In Spain, a matador’s leg was impaled by a bull’s horn. The event occurred in Madrid as matador Roman Collado, 26, tried to swoop in to kill the bull with his sword in the bullring in front of spectators, but misjudged the animal’s prowess.
According to the Daily Mail, Collado had been facing the bull with his red cape and sword in hand. As he tried to distract the bull to stab the frightened animal in the neck, the bull rammed into him and suffered a six-inch tear through a major blood vessel in his leg.
Collado was administered emergency care before he was rushed to the hospital. It is still unknown if the matador will lose his leg.
The black bull, named Santanero reportedly died later.
Rest in peace Santanero. You never asked to be tormented.
