A man who slashed the throat of a golden retriever in Henry County, Georgia, on Sunday night will not face any charges. As reported by WSBTV News, the dog, named Nala, was not on leash and the man who killed her told the authorities that he felt threatened when she ran towards him.
Henry County Animal Control has stated that their “hands are tied” when it comes to charges because Nala was not leashed at the time. Nala has no prior record of attacking anyone and she leaves behind a litter of three-week-old puppies.
Her owner, who asked not to be identified, told the news agency:
“My dog ran out, barked abruptly at him, and he pulled a knife and slit the dogs throat and left her die and continued walking down the neighborhood.”
Nala had been in the garage with her puppies when she ran up to the man, who was walking by with his wife. Nala’s owner had left the garage door cracked because she had never posed a problem to anyone before. Her owner stated, “If I ever thought she was going to bite, she would never have been able to get in the front yard. There’s no justice for my dog.”

This is shocking! Karma will be coming for him. The laws for animal abuse have too many loopholes, and little enforcement. I am so sorry for the loss of Nala. Her babies are motherless and it’s awful that this man walks away with no punishment. I am quite sure he told his story in a way that was embellished and skewed to support his actions
This is absolutely ridiculous! If “their hands are (indeed) tied”, the laws there need some serious overhauling. There’s no justice there, and no right and wrong whatsoever, only violent thugs who can get away with murder with impunity.

I would be very surprised if this POS would ever have been bitten my this dog. To do such a thing and then keep walking like nothing happened is inhuman! I would be suing, If the authorities hands are tied then I say a wrongful death suit is warranted!
This guy felt “threatened” my ass. He is a dangerous individual who is likely to hurt anyone anytime. I guess anyone can get away with killing a family pet just by claiming he/she felt “threatened.” If it was my pet he would definitely have a reason to feel threatened.
Are you kidding me??? Isn’t there a law about carry concealed knives in excess length? I see Georgia has a 12″ law.. that in it’s self is crazy..need to find out if he had a permit to carry….that basterd will die by a knife some day….RIP mommy dog. Sorry for your loss.
