A man is wanted for allegedly abandoning two dogs at a home in Kingsport, Tennessee. The dogs’ skeletal remains were discovered at 1329 Cooks Valley Road over the weekend when the police arrived to conduct a welfare check at the home of 34-year-old Benjamin R. Vaness.

Vaness was not at the home, but the decaying body of a dog was found in a bedroom at the house, and another dead dog was found in the backyard. Officers found evidence that the dog found inside had attempted to claw out of the bedroom. The overall condition inside of the house was deplorable – the incident report states that the interior was, “disgusting and in complete disarray.”

As reported by the Times News, Vaness was contacted by phone and denied having any culpability for the dead dogs discovered at the home – he claims that the skeleton found in the yard was from a deer and denied that there was a dog inside of the house.

There are warrants for Vaness’ arrest – anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to reach out to the Kingsport police at (423) 246-9111.

  1. This SOB raises theorem “scum” to a whole new level. Sadly even if caught he will never get the punishment he deserves. The best solution to this situation is a “shoot on sight” bulletin.

  3. I guess the authorities can’t tell a dog and a deer and the dog that tried to claw it’s way out of the house just materialized after he left. I hope they find this scum and put him away, but he is probably long gone.
