Man stabbed nephew’s dog with steak knife because of year old chicken death

A Texas man was arrested, and is facing charges, for allegedly stabbing his nephew’s dog with a steak knife. As reported by Fox 10 News, 46-year-old Jay Owen Petit admitted to deputies that he attacked the dog because of she had killed one of his chickens over a year ago.

The allegations

Petit allegedly attacked the dog, named Jess, with a 3 1/2 inch steak knife in the afternoon on January 19. The dog’s owner heard “yelping and barking” before finding Petit “holding the dog on the ground.” The authorities with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office were called out to the property on Cedar Ridge Street and they found the injured dog, and a knife that was covered with blood and dog fur.

When the accused man was questioned, he admitted that he stabbed the dog over the chicken’s death and he “showed no remorse” for his actions.

Charges

Petit’s attack on the dog resulted in a third-degree felony charge of cruelty to animals. If he is found guilty, he could face up to 10 years in prison.

What is the dog’s condition? If that had happened to my dog–well, remember the expression don’t bring a knife to a gunfight?!

WTF???? I will never ever understand people? Hope he didn’t kill the dog & that he or she survives. There’s no excuse for people who abuse ANY animal, they all should get the harshest of punishment 🙁 🙁
