A man in Kansas has taken it upon himself to help one shelter’s longest resident find a home. Queen, a seemingly forgotten dog, has been at the Great Plains SPCA for over 400 days and she is starting to deteriorate at the shelter, reports KMBC News.

The compassionate man on the mission to help Queen find a family is Scott Poore, who heads up Mission Driven, whose mission is  to “bring awareness to all shelter pets and the importance of adoption. Spreading the message, while making donations to shelters.”

Poore is stumped as to why Queen hasn’t been scooped up yet, he tells the news agency, “I just can’t figure out why she’s not getting adopted.”

Queen has her own Facebook page, Queen of the Pitties, where in depth information is provided to page followers:

I am a 45 lb, 3-year-old lab/pit bull mix. I am small for my breed. In fact, many of my friends call me a pocket pittie! I am available for adoption through Great Plains SPCA. Check out all the pictures and videos on my page! You will see that I am:
*Great at fetch
*A great cuddler
*Good on a leash
*Know lots of commands
*Friendly
*Your new best friend!!

Poore tells Facebook viewers (in a video from the shelter kennel where he is staying) that Queen is selective about other dogs and she prefers older children (over 8 or 9 years of age). And what she wants more than anything else is someone to cuddle with.

You can find Queen’s shelter profile here.

Please network Queen’s information and help her find the family that she is longing for!
