In Minneapolis, a man died in a house fire on Thursday evening after he ran into his burning home to save his dogs. Michael Norgaard was found deceased inside of the house with his dog.

According to the Star Tribune, the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office arrived with the Shevlin Fire Department at a home on Roosevelt Street burning. Norgaard, 34, had returned home and discovered his house was full of smoke. He called his sister to make a 911 report, and told her he was going back in and save his dogs. Forty firefighters arrived at the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation. It is unclear if there were multiple dogs in the home.

Rest in peace Mr. Norgaard.

  1. May Michael Norgaard and his dog(s) rest in peace. He did what many of us would have done if our precious dogs were in danger.
