A man in Denver, Colorado, is desperate to find his beloved dog who was stolen with his car. As reported by KDVR News, the seven-year-old black Labrador retriever was in the backseat of Myles Richards’ Audi wagon when someone stole the car.

Richards had left the car running to ensure that his dog, Goose, would stay cool while he stopped at his construction site at West 18th Avenue and Federal Boulevard on Monday afternoon. A thieving opportunist took advantage of the situation and drove away with the car.

Richards  told the news agency, “I don’t know if they’ve taken the dog out of the car, or abandoned the car with her in it. That’s my worst fear. I have the key fob to the car, so when they turn it off they won’t be able to start it again.”

The couple believed to have whisked the car away  had approached Richards before the theft – he told KDVR that one of them had “smarted off” to him. Surveillance video shows them speeding away from where he left the car.

The stolen vehicle has a Colorado plate number, ACQ-M41. Richards has offered a $1,000 reward for the safe return of his dog. Anyone with information is asked to reach out to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867, or call Richards at 970-948-8839.
