A man in Phoenix, Arizona, is facing an animal cruelty charge for the death of one of his dogs. As reported by ABC 15 News, 70-year-old Jesus Ortiz Martin admitted to the police that he threw his pet to the ground.
Witnesses contacted the authorities after seeing Martin carrying a grocery bag with a dog inside – another witness claimed to have heard Martin stating that he needed to “get rid of some of his dogs,” because he had too many.
Martin claimed that the dog he killed had attacked another one of his dogs, but the police did not find any evidence to support his story. Martin’s two surviving pets, a dog and a puppy, were seized and transported to a veterinary hospital.
