A man in Louisville, Kentucky, was arrested and charged after starving and dead dogs were discovered in his backyard. According to multiple sources, 39-year-old Lamarrick Sanders is facing six counts of animal cruelty after animal services officers found five badly neglected dogs in his backyard and the body of one dog who did not survive.
One of the dogs had died on the end of a chain and its body was being eaten by starving pit bull puppies. Another adult dog was locked in a kennel without food or water – she was described as starving and dehydrated.
The surviving dogs were seized from the property and they are expected to make a full recovery. Sanders has pleaded not guilty to the charges stemming from the dogs’ neglect.
