A man in Florence, South Carolina, was arrested and charged after fatally shooting his neighbor’s dog. According to multiple sources, 22-year-old Christopher Rogers is charged with ill treatment to animals and discharging a firearm in the city limits, for the incident which happened on August 23.
Rogers went into his house to retrieve a gun after his neighbor’s one-year-old Doberman Pinscher, Lex, got through a fence and entered his yard. Rogers claims that the dog was trying to attack him while he was outside mowing, but Lex’s family, who was away from home at the time their dog escaped, describe the pup as harmless. Adding that he is “goofy and happy.”
As reported by CBS 17, the Stokes family had owned Lex since he was six weeks of age and he was their daughter’s dog. Brandon Stokes told the news agency, “Now she has to tell our 6-year-old girl that her dog isn’t coming home anymore.”
The police recommend that efforts be made to get to a safe place, away from an aggressive dog, and call animal control. After Lex barked at Rogers, the man was able to get inside of his house to get the gun…why he didn’t call animal control for assistance is unknown.

I don’t believe this POS neighbor’s story….. if he could go into his home to retrieve his gun, he could have called Animal Control to come over…… He WANTED to shoot this dog……

The stupid bastard had a choice and was safe in his house. He could have called animal control or tried to get ahold of the dogs owners or jyst stayed in his house where he was safe!
Why didn’t he call animal control if he was able to get into the house safely? Because he just wanted to shoot the dog. There was no reason this dog should have died! I hope they throw the book at this disgusting POS. He is nothing more than a killer!
