At the Kruger National Park in South Africa, a lost zebra foal is desperately searching for his mother. For the past four days, he has been spotted near Olifants.

“Update on the lonely zebra foal spotted near Olifants for the past 3 days.
It is still alone and coming close to cars
It was seen yesterday on the S147
Tinged by Simon – Wild Wings Safaris”

The foal has been approaching white vehicles, possibly thinking it might be his mother. There has been no evidence that the baby zebra’s mother has been killed or died, and there is still hope she may have been frightened away by a lion or leopard attack and thus separated from her baby.

The park does have a policy of not intervening especially when no humans have been involved for the mother and baby separation.

There have been multiple offers to help.

The situation is heartbreaking, but we can only hope his mother will return, and the two will be reunited. Updates to follow.
