Look at Jenny’s “claws.” How is it that no one saw this dog suffering? Rescue Dogs Rock NYC asked the question on Sunday; no one could answer. It became even more horrifying to discover this dog lived in New York City.
“Just when you think you have seen it all, you realize you have not!,” posted Rescue Dogs Rock NYC co-founder Jackie O’Sullivan on Saturday evening.
“Who would ever let a dog get in this condition? At first glance, we were not sure what this was! We are heartbroken and SO angry about this poor baby’s horrific condition. Even sadder, she’s right here in NYC, our own backyard! How many people knew of her suffering and did nothing to help?”

On Sunday afternoon, Jenny was released from Animal Care Centers of New York City and transferred to the rescue organization’s round-the-clock specialty veterinarian hospital. She has numerous medical issues including an elbow deformity, lameness, cataracts, mammary tumors, heart murmur and an open wound on one of her paws from her claw growing into her paw pad.
