Lee County man shot neighbor’s dog for chasing his cat

In Lee County, North Carolina, a man is under arrest after he shot his neighbor’s dog for chasing his pet cat. On Friday, James Wesley Hammonds, 57, was charged with felony cruelty to animals and illegally disposing of a dead domesticated animal.

According to FoxNews, Hammonds told deputies he killed the dog after it chased his cat and had been on his property. He also admitted to disposing of the dog’s body.

Hammonds is free on an unsecured bond of $5,000. And after leaving the jail, Hammonds filed a complaint against his neighbor, Jonathan Mitchell for trespassing and issuing threats.

Mitchell is free on an unsecured bond of $2,000.

Rest in peace innocent pup. You didn’t deserve to become part of an argument between two humans.
