An innocent passerby’s dog was attacked and killed by a man with a sledgehammer on Friday night during a violent domestic argument in Lauderhill, Florida. Darrien Green went on a crazed attack after arguing with a woman inside of a BMW.
According to Local10News, Green, 32, smashed out the windows of the vehicle and then walked away. Two women who had been out walking their dogs, heard the commotion and walked to the scene. One of the women used her cellphone to photograph Green, at which point the crazed man raised the sledgehammer he was carrying and threatened the woman before knocking her down and grabbing the phone.
The other woman’s poodle began to bark defensively protecting her owner when Green raised the sledgehammer and killed the tiny dog named Summer.
“Summer girl, she was barking trying to protect us, but she wasn’t vicious, she wasn’t biting or nothing. She was just doing her barking, doing her job,” the dog’s owner stated.
Green is considered armed and dangerous. He faces charges of aggravated assault, armed robbery and aggravated animal cruelty. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lauderhill Police Department at 954.497.4700.
Rest in peace Summer. You were a brave little pooch. We are sorry you had to leave us so soon.
