A puppy, not even 12 weeks of age, has known nothing but a life of misery. The badly neglected and injured puppy was spotted by a motorist along Epperson Road in Clark County, Kentucky. The Clark County Animal Shelter was contacted for assistance.

The animal welfare agency writes of their disgust over the puppy’s pitiful condition:

THIS-IS-NOT-OKAY! This is happening way too often in our little town and it has to stop! This pup has suffered. She isn’t even close to reaching 12 weeks old yet and her life has been filled with misery and pain due to lack of care or possibly intentional abuse.

After being transported to a veterinarian, it was determined that the puppy is malnourished, suffering from a long-untreated skin condition and she has a badly broken leg which will likely have to be amputated.

This puppy will be seeing a specialist to see if there is a chance that her leg can be saved. In the meantime, she is being treated for parasites and infection. This pup will finally recover and know what it means to be cared for.

See something, say something

The shelter wants everyone to know that they are there to help, writing:

We have Animal Control Officers available 24 hours per day to respond if needed. Please be a voice for the voiceless! (859)737-0053
