An eight-year-old German shepherd named Hannah is desperately in need of help. The senior dog, not quite old enough to catch the eye of senior dog rescuers, has been waiting at the California City Animal Shelter since April 23 and she is running out of time.

On June 5, the Friends of Cal City Animals Facebook page wrote:

This WONDERFUL girl has been waiting at the shelter since the end of April. She is horribly overlooked – too “young” for senior rescues but too old for most other rescues…we estimate she is about 8. Hannah is such a nice dog – very sweet and smart. And she can give a mean high-five as you can see!

Adding:

Who can open their hearts and rescue to a really lovely girl who has spent too long at the shelter? As the longest resident, Hannah will be in danger when the shelter fills. Please help us get her out before that happens!

In all likelihood, this lovely older dog had an owner, but whoever that person is never came to free her from the shelter facility. Now she needs YOUR help. Will you please take a moment to network this article to help her find a loving home?

  1. I swear if I lived in California I would be dog poor. I have neither the means or the way to get these dogs across the country to New York State or they would all have a home with me. Sharing in hopes someone who follows me is close enough to help.
