A hero cat has been credited with saving a toddler from falling down a flight of stairs in Bogota. The video of the one-year-old Siamese cat named Gatubela was shared on social media by the Facebook group, Fundacion Gatos Bogotanos en Adopcion (GABA).
The video showed a toddler, one-year-old Samuel, crawling across the room of his nursery towards a staircase. The cat watched from couch as the baby got precariously close to the stairs and suddenly the cat leaped off the couch, ran towards the baby and seemed to have pushed him back in the opposite direction with his paws.
Gatubela stood in front of the stairway and didn’t move until the baby turned around and crawled in the opposite direction.

“I present to you the hero of the week, catwoman you are a blessing,” the post read in Spanish.
It is not known if the kitty just wanted to play or if he intentionally tried to distract the baby from heading towards the dangerous stairway, but the child is safe and this gorgeous Siamese is a hero.
