Help: Saddest boy has no light in his eyes nor has ever known kindness

At the Harris County Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas, perhaps the saddest dog with no light in his eyes arrived as a stray. Absolutely filthy, he appears as if he lived in a barn.

“We’re calling him ‘Bennett’ and he’s just as sad in his video,” stated a volunteer from the Houston and Harris County Animal Volunteers Facebook page. “This boy has no hope, no light in his eyes and it seems he has not known love or a kind touch in awhile.”

Check out his video:

This poor guy is eight-years-old and is heart worm positive. Bennett will need donations so a rescue can afford to help him.

“Bennett desperately needs a warm bath, a soft bed and some gentle pets,” the group posted. “Please help us get him out of here. Doesn’t an unloved, forgotten old boy deserve a chance for a better future?”

[“If you cannot foster or adopt, please consider donating. 100% goes directly to the rescue that saves him once freedom photos are posted in the comments for everyone to see. If he isn’t saved for ANY reason, your donation is REFUNDED IN FULL! Just say it is for Bennett in the notes while checking out.”]

“I am male. I look like a brown Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff think I am about 8 years old. I have been at the shelter since Oct 25, 2019.”
