Harvey is 15-years-old: He just wants to go home

In San Bernardino County, at the Devore Shelter Harvey is desperate to go home. He is 15-years-old and possibly blind, yet somehow he ended up as a stray and his family has not reached out for him.

An animal advocate volunteer videoed Harvey’s heartbreaking plight.

“This is Harvey (#A710529) and available 2/15/19. Look at his video taken by Lisette, if this doesn’t break your heart I don’t know what will… this dog is 15 and possibly blind he is just wanting her to get him out of there. It is tragic to see this dog in a shelter…,” posted Cindy Sorensen on her social media page hoping to bring attention to this boy’s plight.

Harvey is a male, tan Chihuahua – smooth coated. The shelter staff estimates his age at 15 and he arrived at the shelter on Feb. 10.

For more information, call the San Bernardino County – Devore Shelter at 909.386.9820 and reference ID#A710529. Please note there are many more seniors at the shelter who need help immediately. Share their stories with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. We are their only hope.

I would take him in a heartbeat but I am in Northern California……..
He deserves a furever home where he will be a treasured family member (like our precious treasure MacKitty).
I would give anything to be able to cuddle and snuggle with MacKitty (I know he’s in Heaven with my Dad and our other furbaby angels, but his loss is still very painful).
I can’t imagine ever giving up, let alone abandoning, a senior furbaby…….. The POS’s who abandoned this precious little treasure will burn in Hell forever for their cruelty…….
WTF is wrong with people??? Pets are for life….. I could never send one of my precious treasures to a kill shelter…… My furbabies are my family members and no way do they leave our home (only if they pass away)……
We rescued a blind dog (also all black). He is our precious little treasure. He doesn’t know he’s blind. He plays very well with our other rescue dog and my Mom’s 2 rescue dogs (all much bigger than him).
Don’t be afraid of blindness. Dogs use their hearing and scent detection senses very effectively!!!!!
I live too far away to foster or adopt, but I can assure a potential foster or adopter that blindness really isn’t a big issue…….
If someone is heading to the SF Bay Area, Harvey is very welcome to join our puppy pack!!!

Harvey wants to be out of this cage and into the loving arms of a human. If he has a family, I pray they come and get him, if not, please someone adopt or foster this wonderful dog who just wants to give you his love and be with you. If only these animals could talk and let you know what they really want or where they were before being picked up. Picture being scared, frightened, all alone and not knowing where you are or why you are in this scary place.

I can’t believe some mean owners, u won’t call them his family, have turned their backs on this sweet little lovebug. Sure, he’s a senior, sure he might be partially or totally blind but that hasn’t stopped him being sweet and loving and needing love in return.
Please someone, help this little old guy. I’d love to have him if I was in the States so there must be at least one American who has a heart for precious Harvey and is willing to give him a home and lots of love for his golden years. He’d be suitable for an older single person who is home a lot and has time to spend with s little lapdog and Harvey oukd just love that I’m sure.
He really doesn’t deserve to be euthanised when his only needs are love and a comfy home where he’ll get all that and more. He’s reaching out coz he wants to live and love as long as he can, bless his heart. Come on America, please help sweet lovable Harvey find his furever home URGENTLY.

My Thoughts and Prayers are with precious sweet Harvey to help have his best hope of finding his ideal loving furever home urgently so h can get out of that shelter where his kennel doesn’t even allow him interaction with passersby. He might not be able to see out, but they could look in if not for the stupid barricade.
Please, please help this darling boy.
