An ailing, green, tick-infested dog was recently discovered in Arizona. On August 27, the Friends of Pima Animal Care Center Facebook page alerted followers to the dog’s discovery:

A chihuahua just arrived at the shelter covered in ticks and an unidentified green chemical.

Pima Animal Care Center vets rushed to her aid with a warm bath, fluids, and proper treatment for the ticks that were all over her body. We’re not sure what her story is or how long she has been like this but she needs your help now.

The dog, dubbed Paloma, was in such poor condition that she required a blood transfusion. Two days later, an update was posted about the ailing dog’s health:

Paloma had her transfusion last night and is now eating and drinking a little on her own–a huge improvement from yesterday. We are still awaiting detailed results and prognosis and will post a big update as soon as we know more.

Donations are being accepted for Paloma’s ongoing care. When she is healthy enough, she will likely be placed up for adoption. Want to contribute to her care? Please click here.

That poor, precious little treasure…… my instinct is to want to snuggle her and reassure her that the world is “OK”……
