At the Jefferson SPCA in Jefferson, Louisiana, a goofy and affectionate dog named Bigfoot has been waiting 518 days for someone to love. He is described as the “poster child of adorable shelter pups.”

This nine-year-old sweetheart had been surrendered last July and is part of the shelter’s Senior Discount Program. Adoption fees are waived, he has been neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworms. It is recommended that Bigfoot be placed in a family with no other small animals.

So let’s meet Bigfoot.

“Big Foot has done well with other dogs at the shelter. He thrives on time spent with people, but like many dogs his size, Big Foot thinks he is relatively small, so he is best suited for an adult-only home or a home with older children that he is not likely to knock down inadvertently. He walks well on a leash and is good on car rides. He enjoys baths, likely because they involve humans petting him.

Big Foot weighs in at 70 lbs, is current on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped, and he has tested negative for heartworms.

He is available for adoption through the Eastbank JPAS location but we are hoping Pet Fest is his lucky day to find love!”

And there is more about this sweetheart:

“He has a big bald patch on his butt that he loves to have scratched. He loves to try to steal treats while walking through the Feed store. He can fit jumbo tennis balls in his mouth! When you walk by his kennel, his ears perk up and his tail wags in circles, hoping after all this time, maybe you’ll stop at HIS kennel.”

Sadly, Bigfoot is never chosen. Maybe he’s too old for most families? We don’t think so. Maybe he’s not cute enough? We don’t think so. Maybe he’s not smart enough? Oh come on … check out his day to day activities. Bigfoot wants a home and is tired of sleeping alone at night. Surely he deserves better.

He is currently available at Jefferson Feed located at 4421 Jefferson Hwy. @ Central Ave. Pay a visit during their business hours. Call (504) 733-8572 or Email [email protected] for more information. PLEASE SHARE Bigfoot can go to a home!

Share Bigfoot’s plight with friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. Be the voice for those who cannot speak.
