A German shepherd had been left alone near Opelousas, Louisiana to drown during a raging storm. Animal advocates posted her photos on social media. Someone had to help her.

“When your heart mends itself and tries to find its way. You open your sights to THIS. She is just a shell of her past,” the St. Landry Parish Animal Control and Rescue wrote on their Facebook page.

“She is most humble and kind. Reports have it, she was nearly drowning on Good Friday. We did not have a good address, but with nonstop efforts, LOCATED & SEIZED …before new storm coming.”

And now this sad and extremely neglected dog needs an approved rescue organization to help her. This once beautiful German shepherd has been nearly starved to death.

“She must be heartbroken, over how her LIFE was.”

Please share this heartbreaking situation; sharing saves lives.

  1. I CAN EASILY THINK of MORE than a FEW Ways of ELIMINATION for the TOTAL LOUSIANA BOTTOM FEEDER”S that ABANDONED THIS BEAUTIFUL ANIMAL:: let alone the part about starving her… Hope St. Landery Parish DON”T VOTE these PUKES CITIZEN of THE YEAR in there dysfunction and uncaring Parish!! Thanks to the WONDERFUL PEOPLE AT THE RESCUE this beauty will live another day…

  2. This absolutely wonderful shelter needs donations and/or spreading the word!
Many many of their loving, caring works do not come to the public’s attention!
    They are truly “unsung” heroes!

  3. Thank you St. Landry Parish Animal Control and Rescue for saving this beautiful girl. How some heartless POS can just leave a dog like this to drown is beyond my comprehension. Our world is becoming more evil by the minute.

  4. It seems to me that the enormous amount of trash seen in the picture pretty much describes those who left this dog to suffer and die. These are the kind of people (and I use the term loosely) that the world would be far better off without.
