Since June 4, 2015, Romeo has lived at the Brookhaven Animal Shelter in New York. He’s nine-years-old – a senior and among the forgotten. He’s healthy, weighs 60-pounds, is heartworm negative and just wants to be loved.

Romeo’s advocate posted the following hoping to bring attention to the dog’s plight:

“Handsome Romeo is such a fun and active boy yet so sweet and affectionate. If you are looking an exercise partner he’s your boy, he will play ball with you for hours! He enjoys going for long walks and he loves spending time with you. Such a happy and excitable boy, Romeo will keep you entertained for hours.”

Romeo does need to be the only dog in the home. He would do best with children over 12-years of age.

  1. This is BEYOND HEARTBREAKING! So very grateful the shelter has obviously taken great care of him, but Romeo deserves a loving caring family of his own!

  2. He is absolutely gorgeous!!! Too bad I can’t have him here in Seattle. We are on the other side of the continent. There must be someone local who can open their hearts and home…….
