Forgotten dog Calvin, ‘No one even looks at me’

A middle-aged dog in Wenatchee, Washington, has seemingly been forgotten. Calvin has been at the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society for over a year, but nobody even bothers looking at him.

On Friday, the animal shelter posted a plea on Calvin’s behalf, writing:

“NO ONE EVEN LOOKS AT ME.” Calvin has been in the shelter system for a year. He is 5 years old, a big lap dog, loves all people, gets along with other polite dogs, house trained, and we adore him.

The shelter added:

 Calvin was so hopeful when he was transferred to our shelter to get more interest and possibly find his forever home. We haven’t given up…and neither has Calvin.

Is Calvin too old? Too big? Too scary looking? Why won’t anyone give this big boy a chance? On Calvin’s shelter biography, staff asks potential adopters if they might take a chance on him:

Don’t let your first impressions of his looks fool you, take the time to get to know him and you’ll learn he’s sweet and wants to be a lap dog. He gets along with other dogs with good introductions, and loves his people as well.

He is very happy and is always wearing that happy grin of his. He has no reservation going up to say hello to new people and is really a charming fellow.

He needs that special someone to take a chance on him and he will show you what a great choice you make! Are you willing to take the chance at falling in love with Calvin?
