On Monday night, a Tennessee woman suffered unimaginable loss when a house fire claimed the life of her disabled husband, and her two beloved dogs. According to WATE News, the fire completely destroyed the cabin in Sevierville and claimed the life of Gunter Seils – his wife, Maureen was able to escape through a window.
After the fire, Maureen’s daughter, Adrienne, informed followers of the Dogs, Cats & Horses Facebook page, which Maureen created, about the tragedy:
Last night shortly after 8 pm a fire broke out in her home. It destroyed everything. She managed to escape out a window with only a few scratches. Sadly my father (last picture with me as a child years ago) who is disabled couldn’t make it out. Maureen also lost her two beloved German Shepherds in the ferocious blaze. It happened so quickly.
Maureen has lost everything – she did not even escape from the blaze with shoes. A fundraiser has been established by her daughter – you can learn more about helping at this link.
Officials are working to determine the cause of the devastating fire.
