In Paris, Texas, a skeletal dog continues to fight for her life after her owners nearly starved her to death. On Monday, a Good Samaritan discovered the dog now dubbed Sunshine, tied to a tree and called the shelter for help.

“Tied to a tree and left to die a slow death,” stated Stacey Silverstein, co-founder of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC posted on the organization’s Facebook page Monday afternoon with heartbreaking photos of the starving dog not even able to stand. “…This is one of the worst cases of neglect we have ever encountered.”

Soon after Rescue Dogs Rock NYC had been called by the shelter to help, Sunshine was rushed to Frisco Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Frisco, Texas.

More details have been shared about Sunshine, and it has been alleged her owners tied her to a tree and watched day after day as their dog nearly starved to death.

“After Sunshine’s tragic existence was called into the shelter today, Animal Control went back to the property, and there were more dogs ‘owned’ by these sub humans,” Stacey continued. “These other dogs were running loose in and around the property and the streets nearby.”

Three more dogs have since been seized from the same property and brought to the shelter. They are now safe; Rescue Dogs Rock NYC will be rescuing them also and taking them in for treatment, care and future homes.

Although some readers may be upset with the graphic photos of Sunshine, this is the reality of animal abuse and egregious neglect. One can only imagine how much this innocent dog suffered.

“This is a perfect example – if you see something you must speak up!”

Charges are being pursued against the owners.

Sunshine’s prognosis is unknown, but her condition is critical. She is currently receiving 24/7 care and is being administered intravenous fluids and a blood transfusion. If she survives, her recovery will be a long one. Please help.

Unreal….. that poor precious treasure…… WHY & HOW does a POS treat a furbaby like this??? How can someone be so cruel & disgusting and like what they see in the mirror looking back at them??? There are reserved places in Hell waiting for them where they will burn forever for their cruelty…….

I hope this precious treasure recovers ASAP and is rehomed into a loving furever home where she will be treated as a beloved family member….. all companion animals deserve a loving family, but those who were abused/neglected, especially deserve to find loving families…….

Beyond heartbreaking. Praying for her recovery/survival. I wish they’d put her on something soft instead of that wire thing.
