A Missouri family is mourning the loss of their beloved miniature horse, Quigley, who was ruthlessly mutilated and killed over the weekend. The four-year-old horse belonged to Steve and Lisa Tharp; the couple is grappling with the senseless and cruel nature of the crime.
On Tuesday, the family reached out via social media for help:
“Please I am asking if anyone knows anything about who did this awful thing to our (Little Man) Quigley please just text us 307-272-7292.”
The awful thing the Tharps referenced involved Quigley being shot in the neck, an ear removed, an eye taken out and he genitals severed. On Tharp’s Horse Shoeing Facebook page, the couple promised to find the cruel individual behind the monstrous act:
For whoever shot our little Quigley and cut off his ear, took an eye and cut him and took his penis and testicles, ( he was our 30 inch miniature Stud) you will be found. That’s a promise!!!@ we found him in our pasture over on the south part
The Bethany Missouri Police Department has been made aware of the incident – the department wrote:
Citizens of Bethany, please know the mutilation of Quigley is being investigated. A report has been created and all leads are being followed up. If you have any information about the incident please contact the Bethany Police Department.

That poor furbaby (YES, a horse IS a furbaby)……. I am absolutely heartbroken and horrified at what happened…… my condolences to the family. NO ONE should ever find their precious treasure mutilated and murdered…..
I hope the useless POSs who murdered this sweet, precious treasure are found and locked up for the rest of their useless lives (if my horses were harmed, I would be headed to jail for murder and the POSs would be in the morgue)…… The POSs who tortured and murdered this precious treasure have reserved places in Hell where they will burn forever for their cruelty….. here’s hoping that they get there ASAP after dying horrible deaths alone, afraid, in pain and unloved…….
