Emotionally broken pup surrendered: ‘Just not what we need’

In Opelousas, Louisiana, a three-year-old dog hides under his bed too afraid to come out.  A volunteer at the St.Landry Animal Rescue described ReRun’s heartbreaking plight.

“To the owner that no longer wanted your 3 yr. old heeler mix. He is completely terrified here. He does not eat. He rarely sneaks out from his comfort spot.”

ReRun has no idea why he is at a shelter without his family, but his owner didn’t seem to have much empathy for their beautiful dog. The dog’s intake notes left by his human stated:

“Just not what we need now in a pet. We need a small house trained pet, that likes our 5 kids,” and with the stroke of a pen, ReRun became an unwanted dog.

ReRun is a heeler, border collie mix, male weighing 42 pounds. He is described as easy going, but at this time he can not be cat or temperament tested because he spends all day and night under his bed.
