Elkton man charged with kicking 5-month-old puppy to death

In Elkton, Maryland, the owner of a 5-month-old puppy has been charged with kicking and beating the defenseless animal to death on Monday morning. Ibe Lyles faces charges of aggravated animal cruelty.

According to CbsNews, Elkton police state Lyles, 42, kicked and beat the puppy while tethered to a fence and therefore unable to protect himself or run away to hide.

More charges against Lyles include restraining dog – limit movement and restrain dog-water/shelter. He is currently being held at the Cecil County Detention Center without bond.

A necropsy will be performed on the puppy to determine the exact cause of death of the pit bull. Rest in peace little one.
