Elderly, injured dog surrendered by her family
Spread the love

An elderly dog, 14 years of age, was surrendered to a busy California animal control agency when she needed her family the most. The dog, Katie, is injured and old – she needs love and care, but instead she is without her family and wondering what she has done to deserve being cast aside.

Advocate for Katie

Rita Earl Blackwell, a volunteer photographer for homeless dogs in the Los Angeles area, wrote a Facebook post on Katie’s behalf:

14 yo spayed female 35lbs. Petite Grandma was surrendered last week. She has a mangled and infected tail and is back in the medical department receiving extra care, so she’s UNSEEN by the public. *graphic photo* of tail. Please share/tag. Available for adoption now at the East Valley Animal Shelter

Imagine being hurt – and your people are not there to provide you with the love and care that you desperately long for? Please share Katie’s adoption information and help her find someone who can offer her the love and veterinary care that she needs.

  1. Potential adopters need to look past Katie’s age and help her find a forever pet family who will never desert her again. Seems like such a wonderful dog with many good years ahead of her. Please help her.

  2. Don’t know how these subhumans can live with themselves! I guess if one is heartless–they are also brainless! Thus, no conscience!

  3. THE POS INDIVIDUAL”S are the same ones who DUMP their parents, grandparents, at a shelter or streets, after they have cleaned out their bank accounts, sold the valuables, and sold the home they grew up in , prior to conning their family into placing their names on the deed, and car titles , JUST IN CASE !!! Sickening to Say the LEAST: the Chain will continue and THEIR OWN CHILDREN watching the dog being dumped because Some Bastard in the House probably shut her tail in a door and medical assistance was NEVER AN OPTION!!!

  4. Poor Katie!!! She’s still beautiful! And she did nothing wrong!! I pray someone will come forward an give her the best 4,ever home!!! I will pledge also!!
