UPDATE: Adopted. Many thanks to everyone for sharing. Sharing saves lives. Please remember there are many dogs in need of new homes.

An eight-month-old dachshund puppy was surrendered to Baldwin Park Shelter in California on Tuesday, and she is terrified. A volunteer at the shelter described Candy’s heartbreaking plight.

“She won’t move from the wall, won’t even look at you or eat her wet food. She’s terrified. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to see. She does let you pet her, but she’s so sad and scared it’s awful…”

  1. Sending Loving Thoughts and Prayers to Candy that she will sooon be able to warm to someone at the shelter so they can help turn her life around. One can only begin to imagine what she has likely suffered wherever she has been but the word “dumped” speaks volumes. Please whoever can help her, leave no stone unturned to do so.
