In Springfield, Illinois, there’s no Pillsbury Dough Boy. This time a dog is stuck on the roof of the abandoned Pillsbury factory, and it’s not a place anyone wants to be near. Several attempts to rescue the pooch have not been successful.

According to NewsChannel 20, Sangamon County officials have run into numerous obstacles trying to rescue the dog – who despite his perplexing dilemma seems healthy. The pooch, however has been stuck at the top of the 700,000-square-foot building for more than 24 hours.

The Springfield fire chief said the building’s structure and asbestos in it makes it too dangerous to enter. The building has been vacant for more than 20 years. In 2017, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) took over the building to remove massive amounts of asbestos. One of the owners is now serving time in prison for not disposing of the carcinogenic material safely. The Illinois EPA forbids anyone from entering the building.

Several traps have been set to rescue the dog, but the sheriff’s office says a homeless person is reportedly living in the building and has been setting off the traps.

Officials are still trying to rescue the pup.
