Police in Mimai-Dade have initiated an investigation after a dog’s body was discovered in a burning box left on the side of a road Tuesday morning in the West Little River neighborhood. A passerby spotted the box on fire in the area  of Northwest 95th Street and 25th Avenue early in the morning.

According to NbcNews, Miami-Dade police officers responded to the scene after a 911 call reported a dog had been set on fire. An officer put out the fire after arriving on the scene; Animal Services were also there. A necropsy will be done to determine the exact cause of the dog’s death.

A neighbor reported the dog was a female terrier mix that had been hit by a vehicle in the street and dragged to the side of the road. The witness told authorities he had been driving home when he saw a person in another car pull over and set the injured dog on fire. It is not known if the person owned the dog or if the dog was still alive when set on fire. No arrests have been made.

Three Miami-Dade detectives went door to door in the neighborhood looking for leads in the case. Bullies-N-Beyond Rescue is offering a $500 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.

“Now is the time when we as a community need to come together.
We must stop this cruelty! Anyone that is capable of doing this to an animal is capable of doing this to a human being. You yourself are not safe and your children are not safe with someone this evil walking around this neighborhood. We as a rescue are wanting to offer a reward of $500. We need to find out who made this helpless soul suffer. We know that someone had to have seen something. Offering a reward will make a difference in their decision.
Please help us make this world, this community a safer place! If everyone can donate five dollars we can have a reward in place to find this monster,” the rescue group posted on their Facebook.

Anyone with information about this case of animal cruelty is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. You can remain anonymous and be eligible for a $1,000 reward. Any information on this case can be sent to Bullies-N-Beyond Rescue via email [email protected] or by calling 800-670-1391.

Help to find this dog justice. No one has the right to do something horrible like this. Be the voices for those who cannot speak. If you see something, say something.

  1. Oh yes, come together and help identify ALL these SADISTIC thugs so your judges and/or attorney general dismiss the case and let ANOTHER barbarian continue to RUN ROUGHSHOD over the GOOD people of Miami. WHAT A FREAKING JOKE! ARM recently produced PILES of evidence to the attorney general for an ILLEGAL SLAUGHTERHOUSE and that CRIMINAL ATTORNEY REFUSED to investigate, told ARM it was none of their business? This guy with ARM LIVES in Miami and it’s none of HIS business??? I pray this WRETCHED city is FINALLY swallowed by the ocean. THAT will ELIMINATE SO many criminal elements in Florida.
