The authorities in Cleveland, Ohio, are investigating after someone set a caged dog on fire. As reported by Fox 8 News, the dog, who was found earlier this month, was humanely euthanized because of the severity of his injuries.

The dog had been found as a stray and the people who discovered him were unable to keep him inside of their apartment, so he was left in the apartment complex’s parking garage in a crate. It was there that someone allegedly doused him in accelerant and set him on fire.

The Cleveland Police are hoping that someone will come forward with information. Anyone with information is asked to call the East Cleveland Detective Bureau at 216-451-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 216-252-7463.

Burned dog was found at 16007 Nelacrest Road.
