A homeless dog being held at an animal shelter in Polk County, Georgia, is breaking hearts. The Labrador retriever mix, dubbed Henry, is utterly defeated.

On Saturday, Henry’s advocate wrote of the defeated dog in a Facebook post:

This is Henry. Some of them just hurt your heart. If he had a hole to crawl into he definitely would. He’s scared when the door shuts, scared when you touch him, doesn’t want to make eye contact.

Despite Henry’s obvious sadness and fear, he has not shown signs of aggression. His advocate wonders if he has ever known love, or the comfort of a real home:

A dog hanging their head kills me 💔 I doubt he’s had a real home. I doubt he’s known love or walked on a leash. Toys? I’m sure all that is foreign to him.

Please help Henry find his way out of the animal shelter and into a home with a patient and loving owner. Henry is located at Polk County, GA Animal Adoption and Recovery Shelter in Cedartown, Georgia. Facebook thread for Henry here.
