In Randolph County, North Carolina, a teenager has been charged with egregious acts of animal cruelty after videos were found by authorities of the teen abusing animals. Joshua Brian Davis faces five counts of felony animal cruelty.
According to WFMYNews, Davis, 16, allegedly abused a cat, raccoon and opossums; arrest warrants revealed the cruelty of the deeds. First, he trapped a raccoon and while it was caged, he stabbed it multiple times with a wooden stick and set it on fire while still alive after breaking its leg and paw.
Another raccoon was also brutally tortured as were wild opossums he nailed to a tree, stabbed and disemboweled. The warrant also stated he strangled a cat to death with his hands.
Davis allegedly has admitted to having the videos and images of himself abusing the animals.
According to Fox News, the teen had asked his father, Brian Davis, to see a psychologist eight months ago and had been going to therapy, but it wasn’t enough stating his son acted out in a Jekyll and Hyde type of behavior. He hopes his son can receive the help he so desperately needs.
The North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission has been contacted and more charges could be levied against the teen. His bond has been set at $15,000.
It really is simple. Just love.
