A disabled senior dog, unable to properly use his hind legs, has been taken in at an animal shelter in Rockwall, Texas. The eight-year-old Chihuahua, dubbed Lieutenant, has been given a wheelchair to use at the shelter, and now, staff is hopeful that a loving new owner can be found to take him in.

Meet Lieutenant. He was found by Rockwall Sheriffs Dept. and never reclaimed. He is a 8 year old Chihuahua that weighs 10-12 lbs. When the sheriff brought him to RAC, we knew something was wrong. Since he was unwilling to use his back legs. But we soon realized it was an injury that did some damage to the nerves in his spine.
We are still unsure at this time as to whether he will get back full movement of his back legs or not, but we have tried him in a doggy wheel chair and he has started using it like a champ!
Check out his wheels!
