In Florence, Alabama, an eight-week-old puppy was discovered on Friday night abandoned on the side of a road. He had been hit over the head with a hammer.
Did he chew his owner’s sock? Did he urinate on the floor? Dubbed Tyler, the defenseless puppy was transported to an emergency veterinarian nearly an hour away, when Rescue Dogs Rock NYC were called to help. And when he arrived, as he was being examined after having been sedated, part of his skull fell away from his tiny head. In addition, this little fellow had been coughing and was covered in fleas and ticks. What kind of owner could subject a tiny puppy to this kind of trauma and abuse?
“We will do everything in our power to save this innocent angel and we hope the individual responsible rots in hell,” Stacey Silverstein, the co-founder of Rescue Dogs Rocks NYC, wrote on the organization’s Facebook page Friday evening.
“What could this poor angel have done? Been born? Peed maybe or chewed a sock? Nothing to deserve this torture. Sickening.”
