A cruelty investigation is underway following a disturbing discovery in Charlotte County, Florida. As reported by WINK News, the body of a nine-month-old puppy was found in the road near Myakka State Forest, and it appears that the pup was dragged to death.
The body was badly decomposed and at first, there was speculation that it could have been a coyote – a veterinary exam revealed that the body was that of a female shepherd mix puppy. On her body was a “makeshift harness” and a clip which was attached to a rope.
What is known
The puppy’s body was discovered on Wednesday on Chippewa Street. The pup did not have a microchip or any other form of identification. The authorities are hoping that someone with information will come forward. Anyone with a tip is asked to call tip line at (941) 833-5690 x1 – information can be left anonymously.
