Yesterday, a couple in Middletown, Connecticut, was horrified to find a bag of dead puppies dumped in a rural area. As reported by ABC News 10, Sandra Renkiewicz and her husband, Joseph, were walking their two rescue dogs along Preston Avenue on Sunday when the dogs pulled them to the location where the deceased, newborn puppies had been discarded like trash.
Renkiewicz told the news agency,
“I’m disgusted by it. Who does this in the middle of winter to helpless little puppies. It’s disgusting and there are so many agencies that would have taken those pups.”
The couple, certain that a crime had been committed, contacted the local animal control. Responding officers determined that the black puppies were just a few days old…and they had not been dead for very long.
The couple hopes that someone will come forward with information – Sandra said,
“Someone knows their neighbor who had a dog who was pregnant and suddenly their puppies aren’t around or they’ve taken the mother to the vet and there are no puppies. Somebody must know something and hopefully we can get it out there and someone will come forward.”
Anyone with information is asked to reach out to the local animal control agency.
