A couple in Eckerty, Indiana, vows to never own another pet after the devastating loss of their two beloved boxers, Django and Lou. The dogs vanished from Janice and Harry Speedy’s yard on Tuesday while the couple was away at a dialysis appointment.

Janice Speedy told WDRB News that she immediately knew something was wrong when they returned home and the dogs didn’t come out to greet them. She said, “When I got home and pulled into the drive, they were not in the yard and they always run out to meet me.”

Initially, the couple thought that someone had stolen the dogs, who always stayed in the yard, with shock collars on. But a few days after their disappearance, an odor could be noticed from behind their home. After investigating, both dogs were found in the wooded area not far from their yard – both had been shot in the head.

Janice told the news agency, “I don’t know why anyone would be so evil to do something like that, those dogs didn’t do nothing to nobody. They didn’t deserve that.”

Anyone with information is asked to reach out to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department at 812-338-2802.

  1. BEYOND TRAGIC! How about bringing your dogs INSIDE when nobody is home??? Otherwise, the EViL LUNATICS think they have an OPEN INVITATION!

  2. You can’t leave your dogs unattended in your yard. There are too many evil people out there that will kill them just for sport. My heart goes out to these people. I can’t imagine losing your precious dogs like this. I hope and pray there will be some justice for them.
