A dog found lying in pain near a bus stop in Luohu District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province was rescued on Thursday by a Good Samaritan. He had been brought to a nearby veterinarian hospital, but had to be transferred to a specialized hospital in Shenzhen Longgang for life-saving surgery.

“Locals believe the dog might have been lost or abandoned. Reports have come in that six or seven badly behaving “young adolescents” at a barbecue place nearby had beaten the dog.

The dog was initially brought in to a nearby local hospital by a Good Samaritan, but the dog’s condition was so bad that he was transferred to the central hospital in Shenzhen Longgang under Dr. Huang 黄医生, the chief surgeon. The dog is reported to have passed the critical stage and it is hopeful that he will survive under the direct watch and care under the current doctors. Further evaluation and day to day progress will be monitored closely,” posted animal activist Nom Aly on her Facebook page.

The dog, now named Lucky survived, but will need additional care and more surgery within the next two months. The dog has reported to have a great disposition and temperament as observed by his rescuers. At this time Lucky has to remain quiet and therefore his actions with other dogs cannot be determined.

“This is a courtesy post for the work of our Chinese activists and groups. We are not fundraising internationally and we are not facilitating adoption requests. However, only local donations are being accepted to help with the medical cost for this sweet dog.

We are grateful and give our support to the caring and compassionate Chinese animal lovers who respond to daily multiple cases of animal abuse all over mainland China,” Nom continued.

A potential adopter from Germany has stepped forward and discussions are underway for Lucky’s adoption.

  1. NO QUESTION–THERE ARE ANGELS IN CHINA AND AWESOME RESCUE ORGANIZATIONS THAT HAVE A LONG, HARD AND RUGGED ROAD AHEAD!

THANK YOU, PET RESCUE REPORT, FOR THE COURTESY POST!
    HOPE THERE ARE MORE!

  2. I am very glad this poor dog was rescued and will receive the necessary veterinary care. I hope he makes a full recovery and is rehomed into a loving furever family where he will be treated as a beloved family member.

I hope the laws regarding animal cruelty are changed so that disgusting behavior like beating dogs and cats is recognized as criminal and treated as such….
