On Friday, dog owners found a razor-laced tennis ball at Lyme Park, Disley a popular country park. According to the social media group, Stockport Crime Watch, it is suspected the evil deed had been specifically targeting dogs.

“This ball containing a new razor blade inside was picked up by my dogs in the reeds adjacent to the Knott car park at the far end of Lyme Park at 6.00 pm 24th May. It has been doctored by someone who evidently has malevolent intentions towards dogs.”

The dogs found the balls hidden in the reeds at the far end of the park.

“My puppies carried it back to the car and chewed it up. We found this vicious razor blade inside. The pond life responsible may use poison or there may be more doctored balls in the vicinity. The police and the rangers at Lyme have been informed and have assigned an incident number IML410822. Please let them know of any further developments.”

Unaware of the heinous intentions of someone hiding a razor inside of the ball, the owner stated he had even thrown the ball a few times for his dogs to retrieve. He stated he “can’t bear to think of the consequences” had one of his dogs swallowed the blade.

Local police are now investigating the disturbing incident. Sadly this kind of sick behavior can occur anywhere. Make sure to watch your dogs carefully and fully inspect anything they pick up before they chew or swallow it. Their safety depends on us.

  1. Why must monsters hurt innocent dogs? A lesson to the wise, if your dog picks up a toy that you haven’t given them thoroughly investigate. This could have been a tragedy. I hope they find the POS that did this!
