Bunny secured to rope, tied to a weight, found in a river

A bunny narrowly escaped death after someone tied a rope, which was attached to a weight, around her neck. According to the Raymond NH Police Department, two people kayaking spotted the brown and white bunny in the Lamprey River on the afternoon of July 7.

The good Samaritans were able to retrieve the frightened bunny from the water and she was turned over to the Raymond Police, who then sent her to the Candray Pet Care Center. According to the authorities, the rabbit is doing well, despite the traumatic ordeal.

As reported by the Union-Leader, a juvenile has been identified as a suspect in this case and is expected to face animal cruelty charges. The bunny will not be returned to her family.
