Bradenton woman drowned her chocolate Lab to stop him from barking

In Manatee, Florida, a woman faces aggravated animal cruelty after allegedly admitting she drowned her chocolate Labrador retriever in her bathtub to stop him from barking.

According to MySunCoast, on November 4, Margaret Kinsella, 43, returned to her home while maintenance staff had been working on her air conditioner. Kinsella took the dog out for a walk and when she returned headed into the bathroom. A maintenance worker heard Kinsella screaming and the dog whimpering – noises which increased in intensity over the next few minutes.

The maintenance worker rushed into the bathroom and saw the dog’s lifeless body floating in the bathtub. He quickly dragged the dog out and tried to revive him, but to no success.

When authorities arrived, Kinsella allegedly admitted to drowning her dog because it barked and bit her and her making her very angry.

Kinsella is out on a $5,000 bond and is expected to be arraigned on January 10.

Rest in peace sweet dog. You deserved better.

I would expect a dog would bite you if you were trying to drown it. This poor dog didn’t deserve this and I’m truly sorry the maintenance man didn’t step in sooner, the dog could have been saved!
